Our College Counselors minimize the confusion created by the college selection process by answering many of the important questions that students have.  The primary goals are to ensure that each student has choices for attending college by graduation and to alleviate some of the stress that is often connected with college admissions.  The college counseling program spans all four years of High School, and is part of the educational process at Imani Christian Academy.

Throughout the year, college admission tests are administered to students and include PSAT’s, SAT, and ACT.  We also offer test preparation courses through the Princeton Review for 16 weeks and SAT Readiness in the classroom throughout the year.

College Counselors at Imani will:

Arrange school visits from colleges to share information on the application process and offer insight into their specific schools.

Meet in small groups with students regularly to advise them about upcoming interviews and to get an update on their college application process.

Discuss the financial aid and scholarship process with all families and advise them of all deadlines, including FASFA workshops.

Organize various visits to college campuses in the area, where students can meet with students and teachers and get a better understanding of college life.

Make all college resource tools available to the student, including college guides and web resources.

Keep all students up-to-date on Standardized Testing dates, including the PSAT, SAT, and ACT.

The key to a successful college selection is good communication between the student, parents, counselors, and the colleges!
