CURRICULUM
Elementary Curriculum: (Grades Kindergarten – 5th)
Elementary classrooms are self-contained with the exception of the following classes:

  • Physical Education
  • Computer Keyboarding and Applications
  • Worship
  • Theological Studies
  • Health
  • Science

Elementary subjects taught by the homeroom teacher include the following:

  • Reading
  • Phonics (Pre-K to 3rd only)
  • Language
  • Spelling
  • Math
  • Handwriting
  • History

Elementary activities include the following:

  • Field Trips (Pittsburgh Zoo, Three Rivers Stadium Educational Tour, Carnegie Science Center, Pittsburgh Children’s Museum, Boyce Park, Storybook Forest, Pittsburgh Playhouse Jr., Dairy Farms, etc.)
  • Special Assemblies
  • Plays/Skits
  • Holiday Classroom Parties
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Ministry Outreach (Visiting Nursing Homes)
  • Basketball
  • Cheerleading
  • Community Service

Middle School Curriculum: (Grades 6th – 8th)

High School Curriculum: (Grades 9th – 12th)
All students must have a minimum of twenty-four (24) credits, beginning with the graduating class of 2012, during the final four (4) years in the Academy. Classes graduating before 2012 must have a minimum of twenty-three (23) credits.
